News from Asia
Dear all,
Another update; not sure when I would do this if not for planes. I am now on the plane from Tokyo to Bangkok. it's 30 degrees there - a far cry from what I understand is a frosty fresh Findhorn.
Japan - what to say? I taught in 5 different studios and slept in 6 different beds. I leant the difference between sumimasen (excuse me) and shamisen (Japanese guitar) and a few other words. I attended 4 concerts of Liz's and cried at each one - listen out for one of her new songs entitled "Rain". Have some tissues ready. I ate lots of soba noodles (buckwheat) and practiced slurping (seems I'm not a natural!). Sushi, pickles and kaki fruit (persimmon). A couple of beautiful hot spa experiences which turned my silver jewelry black from the sulphur and 2 amazing massages and one very weird one where the man had rubber things on his fingers like they do in the post office when they are counting money
Oh and the teaching - very satisfying and rewarding as ever. Quite a feat to teach Heartbeat in 2 days when every word I or anyone else says has to be translated which takes up so much time. Sadness was profound - the Japanese are such a private people with their hearts so there was a lot of loneliness present - and then deep release as that shifted.
And, sleep is evading me.. I've had about 4 full nights sleep in the 2 weeks I was there. Even a hot bath and Sake and only one hours sleep the night before didn't help me out last night. It's a bit of a mystery as I'm quite relaxed as I lie awake - I may look out for some herbs to help in Thailand.
And, thankfully, even though the workshop bookings were lower than expected, the classes were full, I did 7 private sessions and the Yen is strong so I earnt some good money too.
I now have couple of days off in bangkok to wander, go on a boat trip to see some temples, eat my next favourite food on the planet and get some exercise somehow which may also help me sleep. I start teaching again Friday night.
Thinking of you all,
love
Deborah
top photo: Lunch box mana made me with rice balls with salmon in; second photo: Liz; other photos: One of the most amazing places I went to was this village in a volcanic region. The hot steam was rising out of the earth, bubbling in places. In this village people often cook outside by placing their pots on areas where the steam is rising. And the sign is saying how much people have to pay if they want to cook there and don't live there. The electro magnetic field is so strong there computers don't work properly. this was one of my japan highlights
ps. Just got to bangkok. I have internet access in my room, it is 34 degree outside and there is a swimming pool. Oh my god. I think I might actually be able to have a couple of well deserved days off. much much love xx
