News from Japan
Hello all you lovely people,
Friday - I'm sitting on a plane flying from Tokyo to Fukuoka. Somewhere below me is Mt Fuji. She may reveal herself - apparently she is quite particular about when she does.
I am loving being here - so nice to have some time in between one thing and another being here for 2 weeks instead of 8 days. I was fairly dizzy after my flight - 24 hours door to door. After a hot shower, sitting down which as how they have them here, I was refreshed enough to go out to a 5Rhythms class, just. We got there half way through but I don't think I would have lasted 2 hours anyway. There is a Japanese teacher (Sahaja) who lives in Holland that I have met twice. Since I came here she is now coming about every two months. It was great to go to her class and strengthen our relationship which was important to do for the work as well.
Next day, after 7 solid hours sleep I had one of the best massages I have ever had. 2 Hours of swedish massage expertly done, finished off with some cranio-sacral. Heaven. We swept the floor a bit and couldn't find the dustpan. I really knew I was In japan when she said, I will make a box to put the rubbish in, and got out some newspaper on the floor and made an open box - origami not as art but for daily functional use. Findhorn Update 17 October 2009
Dear all,
I am counting down and gearing up for my travels away. What a blessing to have the beauty of these Autumn days here - knowing I am heading into the colourful Autumnal days of turning leaves in Japan. I am teaching Stillness this morning with the ongoing group 'Body~Breath~Beat'. Delicious. Tomorrow night, Sunday 18th October is a Sweat Your Prayers in the Auditorium. £5 7pm start, come early for time to get changed and warm up.
Thursday 22nd is the last Thursday class until December 3rd. I am teaching a benefit class that is open to all, count it as an Intro and bring your friends. I am fundraising for some of the work I will be doing in Thailand with children from poor backgrounds, about 70% from broken families. 60 students with 15 teachers! They want to learn 5R to gain self-confidence, self-healing and if possible a group of them will continue dancing and form a dancing club in the school. This is a school of a local municipality. Pracha and his colleagues are responsible for complimentary learning for this class to set an example of alternative learning process for the whole school and the whole municipality.Pracha will be at the class on Thursday and will speak at the beginning about the project - all money raised will help fund this work.
Alice Fryer is my Admin Angel and is organising a number of Sweat Your Prayers on Sunday evenings during November; taught by Martin Julich a 5R teacher from Aberdeen and Bettina. Notices will be in the RB. NO THURSDAY CLASSES IN NOVEMBER.
A calendar will be emailed out in the next few days along with a poster for Martin's workshop on 8th November. Basic details are:
Going Within
A 5 Rhythms workshop exploring surrendering ourselves into the being just here, as we are.
10am-1pm – Sunday 8th November 2009 - Dance Drama Studio, The Universal Hall, The Park, Findhorn
This workshop is an invitation to take time to go within through the dance. Following the inner feeling, playing with the ground, grounding, Earth element - all but words waiting to be filled with your experience.
