Findhorn Update 30 June 2010
Dear dancing people,
Firstly, thank you so much to all the people who have replied to the letter I sent out about taking a break from the Thursday evening class. I have loved hearing from those I see every week and those I might rarely see but are still connected in. I am sorry I haven't had a chance to reply to each of you individually. Secondly, I am not going anywhere (well apart from Geneva and Thailand...)!
I have had heart warming wishes that I enjoy my time out, panic about will there be any chance to still dance 5Rhythms here in Findhorn - it is just the Thursday class that is taking a break. I will still be working, offering Individual Sessions, 3 day Retreats, SYP - along with Bettina, and more sporadic one-off daytime sessions, at weekends and maybe something during the week -I am not sure yet and am taking the luxury of not knowing!
In the meantime this Sunday is an extra long SYP 7-9pm with Sarena from Edinburgh who is sharing the music with DJ Monkey Magic. I am sorry to miss it. Enjoy! Sarena has been practicing 5Rhythms dance for 10 years; she is an accredited teacher with Gabrielle Roth and teaching regular classes in Edinburgh; she is currently studying Process Oriented Psychology.
Various other SYP are happening over the next couple of months, the week long in August, Belladrum music festival and Saturday 4th September 2-5pm.
With love and appreciation,
Deborah

Final News from Asia
Dear all,
well, what happened? i got to Chiang Mai and haven't written anything since. I am now leaving for Singapore airpot in just over an hour for the mega flight home and an adjustment from 30 degrees that feels like 37 to -5 that will feel COLD.
Chiang Mai feels like a new home, new friends, a wonderful place. i taught, did yoga, went on the back or a scooter, shopped (of course), went into the mountains and saw some hill tribes, met up with an Israeli/Findhorn friend Azriel who has been living there for over a year who I hadn't seen in 5 years and over all loved being there. News from Singapore (+Findhorn update!)
Dear all,
Hello from Singapore!
Well, here I am on the last leg of my extraordinary journey. I just spent 3 days travelling by train from Northern Thailand to Singapore. I jiggled and rumbled, read and listened to music and stared out the window for hours. I loved it. I am now gearing up for more than the slight adjustment I will need to make to the weather when I get back next week. (Read More...)

Hello friends and family again,
Here I am in a nondescript hotel room in Khon Kaen, North-East of Bangkok. Why Here? I have just completed 2 days of community service - aka 2 days teaching 90 teenagers and 20 teachers 5Rhythms, both for use as a weekly dance club they can sustain and for teachers who are experimenting with their curriculum to see how/what they can integrate. Oh my god. Almost an ordeal at times. (Read More...)

I write to you from Bangkok to remind you all that
Martin is teaching another SYP in
CLUNY BALLROOM this Sunday 15th November at
7.00-8.30pm as usual.
It is so hot and humid here - a welcome change from my usual November weather! teaching today was harder than I expected. Very loud air-conditioning, poor acoustics, getting the hang of teaching in Bangkok chaos which is very different than the more ordered way in Japan. We did great. I am completely at the mercy of wonderful translators for every word I say and keep needing to change the way i teach - use my body more to demonstrate which is great. (Read More...)

Dear all,
Another update; not sure when I would do this if not for planes. I am now on the plane from Tokyo to Bangkok. it's 30 degrees there - a far cry from what I understand is a frosty fresh Findhorn.
Japan - what to say? I taught in 5 different studios and slept in 6 different beds. I leant the difference between sumimasen (excuse me) and shamisen (Japanese guitar) and a few other words. I attended 4 concerts of Liz's and cried at each one - listen out for one of her new songs entitled "Rain". Have some tissues ready. I ate lots of soba noodles (buckwheat) and practiced slurping (seems I'm not a natural!).
