An OFI Life Long Learning webinar for OF teachers
ONLINE on Might Networks
Revelling in our In Vivo document
Cultivating our shared language as Open Floor Teachers
When people ask, "What is Open Floor?" — and we know they do, often! — the answer lies in our Core Movement Resources (CMRs). Whilst there's also the 4x4 Weave, Continuums, Differentiations, and more — this LLL Webinar invites you into closer relationship with the CMRs through the In Vivo document, a rich collaboration by the curriculum creators of Open Floor Movement Practice. I still consider In Vivo my teaching 'bible'. It's on the DJ desk when I teach, alongside my notes — you'll spot it if you ever assist me. In this webinar, explore the endless possibilities this document offers us as teachers and human beings:
Notice your familiar "go-to" CMRs when teaching — and the ones you leave aside
Experiment with which CMRs serve different themes, students, and music choices
Observe and track embodied (and not-yet-embodied) cues — within yourself, on the dance floor, and in daily life
Practice naming what you see and feel in language your students recognise as Open Floor vocabulary.
You're warmly welcome to join for inspiration, connection, and renewed motivation in your teaching and dance.
