States of Being - ONLINE

Welcome aboard!

I am really excited to be offering these sessions online once more and I look forward to exploring with you. Whether you know my online work or are joining for the first time, please read through the following recommendations, so that you are well prepared for our journey together.

Please make sure that you have updated your Zoom to the latest version before the session, in order to be able to use all of the necessary features!

The Zoom room will be open 10 minutes before the sessions start (from 9:50am UK time), so you are very welcome to get in early, make sure your technical set up is working well, and then you can have plenty of time to warm up and dance!

Dates: 22 February, *22 March (postponed), 19 April, 17 May, 28 June, *12 or 26 July (rescheduled session TBC)

Times: Sundays 10am - 1pm UK time (check your time zone here)

What do I need to join online?

  • You’ll need a computer, tablet or phone, and a good internet connection.

  • Download the zoom app here. It is painless, fast, and free.

  • If you have a computer, we recommend choosing that over the tablet or phone. Not only will the sound be better but also you can interact more and see more of others.

  • If you would like to, connect your computer/phone to an external speaker for better sound quality.

  • Make some space to dance. If you are in a shared space, find a room to yourself so you can dance un-self consciously. Minimise distractions (doorbell/email/phone/household appliances/TV/pets) so that you can be as present as possible.

  • Wear comfortable clothes to move in.

  • Have your water bottle nearby, and if you have low blood sugar, also some snacks.

  • Have a journal/paper and pen nearby, we will use them for writing.

  • Some device that you can use for timing in the breakout rooms in case it is needed.

  • If you’re in a shared space, please consider using headphones for confidentiality.

For more helpful tips on how to use Zoom, see their support page.

How much does it cost to join?

Over the past few years Vital Moves has developed its Fair Pricing Policy; we have a commitment to making this work accessible to as many people as possible. For more info on this please click here.

Everyone has paid a £20 registration fee, thank you. At the end of the session I will guide a financial attunement where you will be invited to contribute more, if you are able to. To give you a rough idea, in the past people have paid a range from £0-£100. I trust you to take your financial circumstances, exchange rate etc into account.

We request any additional payments be made within 24 hours, please.

Isn’t this too much time on the screen?!

There are a variety of different ways in which you will be spending time during the session. There will be time for you to move in your own space, without any instruction, time to be in breakout rooms, and there will be the opportunity to work 1:1 with me, with the group support - the signature piece of Therapy-in-Motion and my ‘States of Being’ work. We will also have a 10-15 break during our 3 hours together.

I feel confident that you will have a satisfying, enjoyable and intimate experience, with plenty of movement, deep connection and learning.

Responsibility

Each participant is fully responsible for their own physical, psychological and emotional health during the session and participates at their own risk.
I would appreciate knowing in advance if you have any accessibility needs that would be helpful for me to be made aware of, and if are on any kind of medication. This information will be treated confidentially - please email me directly.

Team

Over the 5 months, I will be assisted by Masha Kozlovskaya (Open Floor Teacher and Therapy-in-Motion practicioner) and Jorge Xapa (Open Floor Teacher and Somatic & Embodiment Coach).

On-the-day Communication

If you have any issues ON SUNDAY MORNING i.e. with the zoom link, have been delayed or need assistance - please email Beth: beth@vitalmoves.co.uk

We look forward to receiving you on the dance screen!
